Lost without my Prince

As many of you know, this past week was Winter break for schools. Great for the kiddos but really a difficult situation for the working parents. Finding someone to watch Andre for the week was a daunting task. Neither hubby or I could take any days off so we were useless. Thankfully, my family pulled through for me. So with 2 backpacks in tow, Andre was off to his cousin's house for the entire week.

A week of no responsibilities! I can stay out late & not worry about what to make for dinner or bedtime curfews. In my head, I created all these activities I could do. Catch up on movies, have drinks with friends or even a much needed night out with the hubster. Can you believe I did NADA!!! Well I can't say nothing, Hubby & I did have dinner one night. But the rest of the week I came home after work as I usually do, threw on my pj's and watched tv. What had my life become? Am I really this boring?

Then on Thursday, Andre called me crying after a nap and said he missed us. He wanted to come home. Of course this was the one night we were out to dinner. My mood went from giddy to guilt in an instant. Guilt because I was out enjoying myself & he's miserable for the moment. Then I realized I didn't feel complete. I told hubby this and he laughed at me. Men obviously don't have the emotional bone that females have. I couldn't enjoy myself all week because my Prince wasn't around.

I was lost without him. I really missed his presence around the house. His little feet rubbing my back as he creeps into our bed every morning. His voice and his smile.

Finally Friday came & after work we were off to pick Andre up. My heart was racing as we were sitting in friday night traffic. Why was the world trying to stop me from seeing him! Our stupid navigating system was giving us crazy turns as we drove through Jersey. As we finally reached our destination, I ran to go get him. He greeted me with a big hug & those dimples that melt my heart everytime. I felt like I did 4 1/2 years ago when I first met Andre after giving birth.

I was finally complete.
