Prefense Hand Sanitizer Review and a Giveaway! CLOSED

Germs they are just everywhere aren't they? Trying to protect my son from them is a daunting task. Little boys love getting their hands dirty! I wish I could just encase his hands in gloves all day, but how weird would that be. So the only other alternative is hand sanitizer. We know the ones because they are all the same. They all have an alcohol smell and make your hands feel dry and chapped. You have to constantly reapply to get full on protection.

Well now there's a product called Prefense that knocks them all out  the park. It is an alcohol free foaming hand sanitizer that protects you & your family for up to 24 hours or through 10 hand washings. Woohooo!! The best part of this amazing product? All of it!
-It leaves your hands smooth and soft which as a woman is a major plus! I don't have to apply lotion after I've applied the sanitizer.
-There's no alcohol. It is water based made of all natural ingredients.
-It offers protection against bacteria and fungi including strep, staph and more
-Since "one spray lasts all day" the 1.5oz offers 120 applications. That's 120 days of protection!
This has been a life savior in our home. I apply it to my son's hands before he heads out and I can have peace of mind that he is protected. Who doesn't want that for our children? This is my 1st and only choice for our family.
Giveaway
Prefense has kindly offered one of our lucky readers an 8oz bottle of Prefense. That's 640 applications of protection!

Aviator Sports & Events Center

This past weekend I was given an opportunity to represent Mommyslinks and attend a special day with Andre at Aviator Sports & Events center. It is located at the Floyd Bennet Field on Flatbush avenue in Brooklyn, NY.
Floyd Bennet field is NYC's first municipal airport. It became known as the prime airport for experimental fliers who wanted to establish speed & distance records. This 170,000 sq ft decommissioned airport is massive upon entrance. Its Main Street houses the rock climbing wall, sky jump and leads to the food court, and indoor ice rink.
We were given a tour of the facility. This is an ideal place for sports fanatics. It has 2 basketball courts, indoor ice rink, 2 volleyball courts, turf fields, gym and a gymnastics arena. They also offer summer camps & a extended education program for children of all ages. Their goal is provide a healthy & active program. All staff members are licensed professionals. After our tour ended, we ate lunch in one of the 7 unique settings where your private events can be held & customized. We were also treated to the tunes by The Silly Dilly Band. What a quirky, high energy group! All the kids joined in the dancing and singing. Then the true fun began for the kids! We each were given a wristband that allowed us to use any of the activities. Each child was given time to play in the children's center which is like a small playroom where parents can drop off their children while either working out in the gym or playing hockey. After exerting some much energy, Andre was given the opportunity to do gymnastics for an 1 hour session. He learned to tumble, swing from a rope & hang from the parellal bar.
After his session, Andre wanted to do ice skating. It was freezing in there but there were tons of people enjoying themselves on the ice. I, not having the best coordination, convinced him that this wasn't the best idea so he opted for the sky jump! Its located on Main Street as well. Andre was harnessed and off he jumped! He had a blast with it.
If you're looking for a day of fun activities or even a camp for the summer that will get the kids moving I highly suggest Aviator Sports. It is a great facility that has so much to do that you'll never want to leave. There is on site parking which is a great plus. I only wish that there was a place as interactive in the city. It is a distance to get to but worth a day trip.
Thank you Mommyslinks & Aviator Sports!

Why Summers & Camp belong in Maine

Growing up in New York City, my summers were spent traveling to Martha's Vineyard with my grandparents. It was a great escape from the fast paced city, and a time to enjoy the fresh outdoors. Now as a parent, I want my son to have the same experiences. Summers are meant to be traveled. One of our goals is to visit Maine. We have heard rave reviews about their fresh lobsters, ocean scenery and of course their outlet shopping! After reading this great article, I hope to venture to Maine soon.

Skin MD review and giveaway - CONTEST CLOSED

Do you or someone you know have dry skin? Or may you have eczema or psoriasis? With these upcoming warmer days, do you need and want a natural skin care treatment to protect you? Well then I have found something for you.

Skin MD Natural
Full product description:
A shielding lotion does the real work to prevent dry skin in two ways.First, it assists the inner layers of skin to absorb moisture. The humectant (an ingredient that attracts moisture) used in Skin MD Natural is unique to it and has been laboratory tested to be 6 times more effective than any other you will find in common creams.
Second, a shielding lotion enhances the power of the top layer of the skin to resist environmental irritants while protecting the inner natural moisture.  Excerpt from http://www.skinmdnatural.com/dry-skin-care/

I was recently given the opportunity to try the sample packets of Skin MD Natural which I was excited about since my son has dry patches on his legs. He is constantly stopping while we walk to scratch his itchy skin. I have been using this skin care on him for several weeks. I must say I am very pleased with the results. I no longer have to stop so he can scratch. My son's skin is smooth. What I love most is that there is no greasy residue, and his skin is getting protection and its all natural. They are eco-friendly, vegan, cruelty free. Each packet contains 3-5 applications. They were convenient to have in my bag for those days that he didn't have any on.
So here's how to enter to win your own 20 sample package of Skin MD Natural. Each comment will gain you 1 entry.

The Good, bad and sad

What a week it has turned out to be. I had this post ready last Wednesday to put up, but life got in the way. I wanted to write about Family day at the Tribeca film festival (awesome time), my son got into the charter school we wanted (yippee) and talk about how bad spring has been to my son's allergies. He's suffering so much. I really can't wait for May to pass.
Then we got the news early Tuesday morning that my Aunt passed away. She was the matriarch of our family, my mom's older sister. We knew this day was coming, but we just didn't know it would be this soon. She was diagnosed with cancer in February, which had spread unfathomably and with her bad heart she just couldn't do chemotherapy like she wanted. She was a strong fighter with some baby blues in a petite package. In the end, we all knew that it was best she went now before the worst began.
See you later Aunt Mary and say hello to all those we have lost in the past. Tell my Dad, Grandpa and Nana that I miss them. I know that I have a great group of angels watching over me and my family. Love you all
