Winnie the Pooh & Friends hits theaters July 15!

Who doesn't love Winnie the Pooh and his friends from the Hundred Acre woods? I remember wishing I could be Christopher Robin and have adventures with Piglet,Tigger, Rabbit and Eeyore.

Happy 5th Birthday!

Today is my son's 5th birthday! It has been such a wonderful 5 years. My mom always told me "Once you see that face, you will forget all about the labor pains you went through". And she's so right. I do remember the 22 hours but 5 years later, all I can remember are the fun times I've had so far with this little guy. He's brought so much joy to our family. I can never imagine life without him.

Look what my tv can do!

I have to admit that I'm a tv junkie. I love watching reality shows and if I'm not home to watch one, I have to record it. I used to only be able to watch it on our living room tv and with 4 of us in the household, it was difficult to balance out equal viewing times. Now that we've made the switch to Verizon FIOS, we can all record our favorite shows in the living room & access the it in any bedroom. Its that simple. Verizon FIOS has made watching tv so much fun.
Verizon TV also has widgets which you can access the local weather, traffic and even my horoscope. Imagine even being able to update your status on Facebook or tweet on Twitter! There's also an app that can you can download to your phone which acts as a remote for those times where the remote seems too far for you to get up and grab. Voila! Change channels through your phone! Its really such a great tool and easy to use.

Where has the time gone by....

 Today was my son's stepping up ceremony from pre-k. Oh how I remember his 1st day at school and the nervousness I felt for him. I didn't know if he would have problems making friends, or feel alone in a new environment. I had jitters. On that 1st day, he happily told me "Mom see you later. You can go now." That was the independent little boy we were raising. Yes my heart was broken a bit because I wanted him to need me more at least till he's 21.
As I sat & watched with my family, at how excited he was performing with his classmates, I saw my son growing before my eyes. He made us so proud. He has accomplished so much in this past year and I look forward to the many more years of joy that he will bring. He's growing into such a big boy that he's no longer a baby, but will always be my baby.

Love you Andre. You are my shining star!

Happy 1st Birthday Caden!

Today is my great nephew, Caden's 1st birthday! His precious blue eyes have won our family over, especially his mommy Justine. I can't believe that the year has gone by so quickly. He's grown into such a big boy eating everything in sight! He's not a picky eater at all. He's been walking since he was 10 months and is truly amazing every day. Simon & Schuster's Little Green book series & giveaway! CLOSED

June is here and that means that school is almost done. What a great year my son had in pre-k. He'll be moving up to kindergarten in the fall into a new school. Even though there won't be any daily homework assignments to do, we still like to give our son some work to keep him interested and constantly learning. One of the things we will be working on heavily with him is reading. So when I came across Simon & Schuster's  Little Green Books series, I was thrilled.

This is a new eco-friendly series that is devoted to teaching children about going green. There is a book about recycling, saving our oceans and gardening. These books are beautifully illustrated and written. My son received 4 of the books and we enjoyed reading them all. His favorite was The Adventures of a Plastic Bottle. Its a unique way of telling the "life" of a plastic bottle. The diary is from the bottle's perspective and offers such detail of its journey to recycling.
I highly recommend these series to anyone who has children! These books are colorful, easy to read & not only tell a story but teaches an important lesson. We need to take care of our world and it needs to start now. My family loves food. We're not a picky bunch so its always difficult when we want to go out to choose what to eat.
